San Francisco: Get Away…With Murder
San Francisco is a small city with 760,000 residents. Last year there were 99 murders in our small city disproportionally affecting the east side of the city and disproportionately affecting black and Latino communities: http://manyeyes.alphaworks.ibm.com/manyeyes/visualizations/homicides-in-san-francisco-2007-2008.
San Francisco’s has a horrible reputation for leaving murders unsolved. San Francisco has 800 plus unsolved murders which ranks San Francisco as one of the top cities to get away with murder in. This is a tragedy and we are not seeing the type of leadership we need from our elected officials. Young people are leading the charge in SF to push our city to invest in violence prevention programs and we need to keep the pressure on. Get involved: sf@youngvoter.org
