The Only Message That Works for Health Care Reform
Did you catch Bill Moyers on Bill Maher? Man-o-man, he snapped. And to think I almost missed this episode (thank goodness for Internet piracy).
For a minute I was getting a little confused about health care reform. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I want all Americans to have access to life saving procedures and medicines, but I was sort of getting bewildered by the rhetoric coming from both sides of the isle. After all, the “Public Option” sounds about as exciting as spending an sunny afternoon at the DMV. Good thing Bill Moyers, or as Bill Mahr called him, “the conscious of America,” came through and cleared things up for me. Yes, we need health care reform because it will save us googabs of money, but ultimately the struggle to save our country’s broken insurance system is a moral issue.
After the jump is Bill Maher’s interview with Jay Z who was also interviewed for this episode. Can you imagine how crazy the Nielsen numbers looked like for this show? Props to Maher for having the guts to pair up a former dope dealer and aged baby boomer.
