EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson Answers Questions on Dispersants

June 28, 2010 Front Page No Comments

Lisa Jackson has issued a letter addressing the public’s concerns over the use of dispersants in the Gulf Coast. Check it out on her Facebook page.

It seems she’s doing her best to address all of the complicated factors that are affecting the decisions being made in the Gulf right now, but boy does she take a beating in the comments section. The woman’s got one of the toughest jobs out there right now, that’s for sure.

Remembering Michael Jackson

June 25, 2010 Front Page 4 Comments

One year ago today, Michael Jackson experienced cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles and passed away a short while later. Since that time, the legacy of the troubled, world-changing entertainer has exploded, as his massive fanbase redisovers the King of Pop’s music and thousands of new people decide to find out what all the fuss is about.

On his official website, they’ve set up a form for fans to pay tribute to the brilliant musician. They’re hoping to get 1,000,000 Tributes by the end of the day (already at 650k, go share your love!), click here to spread some positive energy or read a lot of sincere messages.

Just from the tone and personality of the comments so far, gotta appreciate MJ’s far ranging appeal.

And for you 80s kids, hit the jump for a mock 1980s lesson on How to Do the Thriller, starring the legendary-in-her-own-right [not at all], Dancin’ Kim!

If you see neon and red bricks, you know it must be fake 1983.

LOOK AT ME WHEN IM TALKING TO YOU!!!!

June 25, 2010 Front Page No Comments

My mother and her mom wouldn’t dream of some the technology that’s out today, but I bet they’d appreciate the face to face addition to the I-Phone that allows callers to see each other while talking. Yes, if you didn’t know, Steve Jobs is one the first to implement video conferencing on a cellular device. But the question is, will they understand it? Most parents are still figuring out Facebook. I guess it really doesn’t matter since more than half a million Americans pre-ordered the I-Phone and showed up in large numbers, preventing me from having an I-Phone complaint to share with the masses. Some sources such as Mashable claim customers waited approximately seven hours to leave with this new toy:

Just to put seven hours (and that was for pre-orders, mind you) in perspective, my iPhone 4 line buddy told me that the this line even outpaced lines for concert tickets in the 1960s and 1970s. Getting tickets for Elvis only took five hours, he told me. The iPhone 4? Seven hours and counting!

Besides better picture quality and battery life, people really are anticipating the day that all phones will allow you to see the person you’re talking to. I admit, it’s a pretty cool concept but what are some of the worst things that can happen. Idk, but I’m dying to find out!

Parking Garage Collapses Near Summerfest

June 24, 2010 Front Page No Comments

It seems like nothing happens at home until you’re away from it. One of the biggest music festivals in the world is currently going on in Milwaukee, WI but you probably wouldn’t be able to tell because of all the attention that has been diverted to the parking structure collapsing leaving one dead, 2 injured. Jsonline has the story.

These type of occurrences can’t be prevented but my prayers go out to the families that suffered from this tragic event.
