Mad In Madison!!!

February 18, 2011 Front Page 1 Comment

Today, for the fourth straight day, teachers, students, city and state workers flooded Downtown Madison streets and the State Capitol building protesting against Governor Scott Walker’s new bill to take away the union rights of pubic workers and cut millions of dollars from Milwaukee Public and UW Schools. The bill’s union bill was supposed to be passed yesterday.

Plenty of people are angry throughout Wisconsin, saying the bill isn’t fair and it interferes with their human rights. Teachers will be losing jobs and students losing out on a quality education and after school activities. 13 democratic State Senators did not show up today to vote on the bill. Wisconsin citizens are angry and anxious to see tonight’s results and whether the state assembly passes the bill this afternoon.

MPS and other public schools today were called off due to a lack of teachers and other schools did walk outs. Over 250,000 protested yesterday and spent the night at the capitol building to show that they mean business and will not let the Gov. Walker get away with passing this new bill.

If the bill is passed how will the people of Wisconsin react? Let’s see what’s next!
