TODAY: Talib Kweli on YoungVoterLive

At 3 p.m. Eastern, the League will be broadcasting LIVE from Jackson State University on YoungVoterLive.com.

The panel, called “Gender and Racial Politics in Today’s Media,” is a part of the Rap Sessions series. The panelists who will be speaking out today include:

  • Talib Kweli
  • Bakari Kitwana
  • Elizabeth Mendez Berry
  • Mark Anthony Neal
  • Joan Morgan
  • John Jennings

The interactive event will be broadcast on UStream and will examine the ways that race and gender are perceived and discussed in national culture in the aftermath of the election of Barack Obama. The provocative, 90-minute town hall-style gathering will challenge participants to examine ways the “Obama Era” has impacted discussions of race and gender in America.
