When it comes to incorporating Christ into their hip-hop music, Bizzle is one of the most popular artists. He not only does that but he challenges the likes of Jay-Z, something even our homie Dee-1 did with his Jay, 50, & Weezy track. Hip-hop is the best ways to reach young people and if there is a message with a mixture of a lil bit of swag, you might be effective in reaching them.

Bizzle just came outta nowhere with this “25 Bibles…” record. For those that aren’t familiar with the original DJ DMD “25 Lighters…” track, you’re gonna have to re-visit to appreciate how Bizzle flipped it on em. From what I was taught, God can use any of us, even our music, to get the glory!

Damn, Donna Summers was cold talent-wise and physically! Her voice was crisp but she was stunning at the same time. Ms. Summers, who didn’t put up much of a fight climbing the charts in her 40-year career, battled with cancer, as a lot of people her age are. At the age of 63, she succumbed to the disease. I wish we could lock cancer up in jail and throw away the key because it’s taking more lives than gun violence.

President Obama has made it very clear in a recent interview that he is in support of same-sex marriages, something that he once opposed. This recent change of heart was attributed to his forward-thinking views, which have very much so “evolved.”

More interesting is the fact that his Republican challenger has made it clear that he doesn’t support this large base of constituents. “I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman,” he said while campaigning in Oklahoma.

President Obama will definitely get a lot of support for this announcement as well as much expected hate from the opposing party. Does this increase the chances of Obama getting re-elected? Where do you stand?

Cancer is a beast! The American Cancer Society has recently stated that cancer has already taken 577,190 lives this year. It nevers gets old and you don’t have to be old to get it. Forty-seven-year-old Adam Yauch, better known as “MCA” of the crew that brought you the new style, Beastie Boys, has also lost his three-year battle with cancer. Our prayers are with his family as well as the many others who’ve lost a loved one due to this disease.

This waggin movement is something serious in Minneapolis. I don’t know much about it but I know that it exists. When I first listened to their single, “Waggin on the Scene” a track that is featured on our new mixtape, it reminded me of something more H-Town than Minnesota, but out of respect, I won’t compare the two scenes.

Spotted at Allhiphop.com: Barack Obama continued his stand-up act at the 2012 White House Correspondence dinner. This is an event where the President gets to casually speak in front of his peers and colleagues, honoring the media, this year right before the presidential campaign intensifies. This is always entertaining, no matter the host, but Barack Obama really does his thing when it comes to live performances. From jokes about his GOP opponents to jokes about himself, President Obama had the crowd at the Washington Hilton laughing so hard, their hearts had no choice but to soften up just a little bit for the aspiring second-term President.

What really stood out the most to me was the shout out to Young Jeezy…

“In my first term, I sang Al Green. In my second term, I’m going with Young Jeezy.”

The president is always mentioning Jay-Z and Kanye, but one of the game’s biggest artists who’s most notorious for his drug-infested rap? I think that’s going maybe not too far but far as hell.

It’s a good look on Jeezy’s part as far as a sound bite on a mixtape but is that what it will take to get the young demographic invested in the hope and change movement or is that what it will take to get these Republicans on his a** even harder? At the end of the day, that shout out was intentional and not accidental. But what do you think?

Barack Obama makes the job of President seem too easy sometimes. His charismatic, swagged out approach to politics is part of the reason why there are a lot of young people tuning in and staying tuned. However, as a country, we are facing some of the most depressing economic times in history and when our Commander-in-Chief is seen on Jimmy Fallon making light of news that’s pretty damn serious to his constituency, I have to ask, “how does that make you feel?”

Some think it might be a lil too soon to be having fun with the news when your job is on the line as well as many other Americans. Personally, I loved this remix of the news because the news is actually really old. At the very least, we know we’re getting murdered fiscally and economically at the local and national level. I don’t wanna keep hearing that. At the same time if there’s going to be a remix of the news, I’d prefer it be Diddy…but I can digest it with the President. What do you think?

Justice or it Just is what it is…George Zimmerman is walking around here like a free man and his gun is still hot…

When I first saw this, I thought, “doesn’t this guy know there are gonna be people of all colors and creeds looking to retaliate because of the nature of the crime and lack of consequences, successful or not?” Seeing Zimmerman walk out of jail, hop into that BMW X6 and smash off with the security detail just disgusts me. I could sympathize for this dude if he opted to go to jail and did more than just apologize to the family but the fact that he’s trying to get away is dishonorable. George Zimmerman must live with the mistake he made. That’s the price of having a gun and using it. Innocent, young man down, Man up!

Two of my favorite musicians, DA Wallach & Maxwell Drummey have bursted back onto the public scene together, re-introducing Chester French to the a world that missed the hell out of them. Their thoughtful, yet unapologetic lyrics are very much so apparent in their new release, “Black Girls.”

Race is a big deal in America and this racy video features a lesbian, interracial couple that has no shame in embracing each other on camera. Interestingly, Chester French makes no appearance in this video, which is fine if you like to watch two women get it on for four minutes. Hopefully, you can see the bigger picture being painted in living color, while appreciating the lyrics at the same time. In this song, lead singer, DA, exclaims that the world is turning brown and I’d have to agree. But this Friday, we’re going green!

Last night, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre brought back 2Pac, who was literally in rare form. I would’ve loved to have been there to personally witness the reaction of the Coachella attendees when Pac entered the stage, greeting the thousands upon thousands of patrons that frequent this event each year.

It could easily have freaked out a bunch of people if they weren’t sober. I’m pretty sure someone still believes that he performed last night. However, there was very expensive technology being used to produce such a high quality 3D image. At the same time, even though we know we were watching a holographic image, it just felt good to bring back 2Pac in good spirits..#PunIntended

P. Diddy is responsible for breaking a lot of artists. However, those shitty deals that were worked out between Puff and those artists never puts them in the best position. From Black Rob, Loon, to Shyne, the Bad Boy roster has seen their share of prison cells due to their stagnant music careers and ambitious attempts that fail to get their brands back to where they once were. Most recently, G. Dep, the artist responsible for the hit, “Let’s Get It,” the track that resulted in the production of a video featuring the introduction of the “Harlem Shake,” has placed his bid to live in one of the many luxurious prison cells in the US.

More specifically, G. Dep aka “Ghetto Dependent” and who’s known to the judge and jury as Trevell Gerald Coleman, has admitted to another murder while on trial for murder. This is unfortunate because his career seemed so promising almost a decade ago but then he (Dep) fell into the “where is he now” category, as most artists with sucky ass deals usually do. Apparently, the murder he’s confessed to committing took place almost 20 years ago. Some things should just stay in the past, but is murder one of those things?
