*Throwback* 2Pac Speaks to Malcolm X Grassroots Movement

December 18, 2011 Music, Politics, Problems No Comments

I’m still amazed at how powerful of a speaker Pac was. These videos remind me about how necessary his message was, but also how important he was to our generation. It’s interesting because while we’re in the middle of rallying up the next generation to unfuck a world that has been fucked up since the beginning of time, Pac was in this video trying to remind people twice his age that we still have a ways to go in this battle for equality and purpose.

October 3, 2011 Front Page, Music No Comments

The 14-year-old, Brian Bradley, is truly a representation of the next generation of hip-hop. The young man’s charismatic demeanor aka, #swag will take him far! He won the hearts of many after performing his single, “Stop Looking At My Moms” on the American Idol spin off, X Factor, a few days ago. The video of his performance has circulated all over the net, causing many to wonder, what is about to happen next for Brian Bradley, aka ‘The Astronomical Kid.’ He’s most definitely a star in his own right. In fact, The Brooklyn native could very well be Jay-Z’s 100th problem!

This new record shows the humility of the kid as he simply says thank you to the most high for the blessings he’s been given, the gift and he doesn’t curse… Brand New Music From The Kid, After The Jump

#NewMusicMonday – D. Mac x ‘My Will’

D.Mac, an artist based out of Miami, had been tweeting this song to me for quite some time. The message read, “R.I.P. God Bless The Dead” but I ignored because I assumed it was another rapper spamming a DJ. I happened to get the message again and clicked the link praying it didn’t take me to a virus-infected site. It didn’t. Instead, my ears were blessed with an honest song about death from the perspective of a young man who has seen it firsthand more than enough.

2pac Loved Biggie!!!!

September 2, 2010 Front Page No Comments

Or at least he loved the way he rapped so it seems. While scanning Worldstar for its rare videos that inspire, empower, or educate, I came across Pac and Big’s infamous freestyle from 1993 which was being featured as a throwback video of the week. It’s just so sad to see this and know that eventually they would fall out and participate in one of the most notorious hip hop feuds of our time.

If we’ve learned anything from these two, its to put the guns down and pick up a mic!
