The U.S. Census and the Amazing Apportionment Machine|99Problems.org

December 16, 2010 Politics, Power No Comments

Apportionment is the process of dividing the seats in the House of Representatives among the 50 states based on the population figures collected during the decennial census. But how does it actually work? Through animation, the US Census Bureau helps explain how the apportionment formula is used to ensure equal representation for all, just like the Founding Fathers planned. Watch Video Inside

Open The Door To Your Census Taker; They Might Be Cute!

I mean, look at this love connection

I like reading the Craigslist Missed Connections (a section where people look for someone they shared a fleeting moment of interest with, but didn’t speak to) in part because it tracks interesting trends in how and where people are meeting (or regretfully not meeting). At the end of the weekend you can tell which big parties and concerts everyone was at (“we danced at Rubulad Friday”) or even what the weather was like (“you shared your umbrella with me on 14th street”).

So, I was amused and pleased to find a Missed Connection trend I can add to LYVEF’s Census Campaign! This young man was quite taken with his Census Taker; maybe you will be too! Open the door and be counted, kids, you never know were you’ll find love.

LUDACRIS INSISTS ON SAFER SEX!!!

April 29, 2010 Front Page No Comments

Proactivist/Artist, Luda-Christopher is back with another hit. But this time the importance of condom usage will be the hook since Trojan is sponsoring it. The 2010 Census Spokesman will act as a judge for Trojan’s new initiative to promote safe sex, something that I’ve actually been advocating for for about two years now. It makes a lot of sense since Luda’s last song was more of a bed banger than head banger<<<< I just wanted to say that!!!

$5,000, radio-play and an opportunity to open @ a Ludacris Show, is a good deal for an independent artist. The artists are being asked to visit the Magnum Live Large Project on the company's website, download a base track and record their own condom-related lyrics.

2010 Census Presents: Luda on the Block – New York

April 22, 2010 Front Page No Comments

While promoting his #1 Album, Ludacris still makes the time to promote the Census and its importance. From New Orleans to New York he has been campaigning and has successfully gotten the message that we’ve been pushing since its introduction across. So we, definitely, can appreciate what Chris Bridges is doing for our community. Big Ups Boi!!!!
