Independence Day: The First & 4th

July 5, 2011 Politics, Vote No Comments

The President of the United States and the rest of the First Family celebrated Independence Day by honoring the many troops of ours at a party on the White House’s South Lawn. President Obama acknowledged those that risk their lives on a daily basis and promised them his support while they’re in service and out. What a relief to some, given the fact that as of 2009, between Texas, Cali, & Florida alone, there were 6 million troops + veterans. There hasn’t been enough love for our troops/veterans in the past but can the troops take Obama’s word?

In 2008, 15.8 millon veterans voted. I’m curious to see, with the troops finally being home, how voters will react in the polls now. The White House BBQ [VIDEO INSIDE]

Speaking of Dee-1, Someone else has beef with Weezy.

Young People all over the world are producing music, some with videos, challenging their favorite artists to be more responsible. The youth ranging from 9 years old to their 30′s understand that these icons must be held accountable for all of the negativity they so nonchalantly put out to the world on a daily. Word to my homie Muhibb Dyer, The children are indeed crying, specifically in this video, for Lil Wayne to check himself for the degradation of the black women we call mom, wife, sister, grandma, etc. CONTINUE FOR VIDEO

Anytime I see Kathleen Bradley, whether it’s on the Price is Right or some random tv exposure, I can just imagine Smokey(chris Tucker) screaming, “dayum, Ms. Parker finer than a mother-F*****!” In reference to Katheleen, he’s right, she is fine and she is someone’s mother. In fact, her son is a local rapper that is trying to acquire fame in the music industry. Below is one of his music videos where Kathleen, basically reinacts her famous scene in “Friday” while her son sits with his gazing friends. More of Ms. Parker Inside

To beat or not to beat?

Is it morally wrong to whoop our kids? Is it wrong to whoop someone else’s kids? With all of the potential legal implications surrounding people and their choice to physically discipline their children, the real question is whether it is really necessary to put our hands on them to properly teach the lessons that we want them to learn. This issue is obviously one that requires a great amount of clarification, because there are still countless children who continue to grow up in violent households and later become the heads of violent households.

I have known people who will swear that it is not possible to raise a healthy child without occasionally (some find more occasions than others) using physical discipline. However, I have also known people (a very select few) who have never found it necessary to put their hands on their children in order to teach them a lesson. The thing that I have noticed in either case is the temperament of the parent. The parents who do not have to use corporal punishment on their children are typically the ones who approach life in general with more patience.
