I, personally, haven’t bought gas from BP since the oil spill just to show my support for the birds and disgust towards the companies that allowed their own greed to affect humanity and wildlife as it did just recently. Have we already forgotten?
A buddy of mine surely hasn’t who makes the comment, “If you’re looking for a morally pure vendor to buy your gasoline from, enjoy that nice fresh air as you walk, jog or ride your bike to and from work tomorrow.” When asked what he thought of the oil spill in the gulf, BP CEO Tony Hayword said. “I wish I could have my life back.” So do a whole bunch of the employees that die in your unsafe work environments, Tony! … Continue Reading
Did you catch the latest segment of Perry’s Principals? “I had to be principal at some point, or a prisoner, because I spent more time in the Principal’s office than the principal,” recalls Steve Perry, who has opened a magnet school where every graduate goes to college.
Well if you missed it, Perry gets the opportunity to sit down with a very successful intellectual in the music business, Pharrell. In this video, the creator of www.kidult.com, speaks passionately about the importance of education and meeting the kids where they are. It’s a damn shame but is still important to acknowledge that a guy in Pharrell’s position has more control over your child than their home room teacher. Listen to how surprised Steve Perry was in the beginning. SMH

Check out this open letter to Tavis Smiley By Anthony Cole; jacked via CNN
Dear Tavis: Although we’ve never met, I feel like I know you. I’ve followed your career and listened to your commentary for over a decade.
During that time you’ve inspired me and challenged me. You gave me reasons to smile, to hope and to dream.
Most recently you’ve left me scratching my head.
Your unwarranted assault against President Obama’s creation of policies that aim to lift up all Americans is particularly disturbing. Equally troubling is your upcoming travel to the president’s hometown to press your case for a new “black agenda” in the Obama administration.
Perhaps this wasn’t your intent, but such rhetoric suggests that the president has been ignoring the pressing concerns of African-Americans — which is just not the case.
Check out the tailor from Bogota who specializes in making bulletproof fashion garments. He said at one point he wants to expand into the “hip-hop” market. It’s a damn shame that there is a demand for this. This was spotted at CNN.com (funny that CNN is getting hipped to Vice).
