[WATCH] Obama Officially Supports Same-Sex Marriages, Relationships

May 9, 2012 Politics, Vote No Comments

President Obama has made it very clear in a recent interview that he is in support of same-sex marriages, something that he once opposed. This recent change of heart was attributed to his forward-thinking views, which have very much so “evolved.”

More interesting is the fact that his Republican challenger has made it clear that he doesn’t support this large base of constituents. “I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman,” he said while campaigning in Oklahoma.

President Obama will definitely get a lot of support for this announcement as well as much expected hate from the opposing party. Does this increase the chances of Obama getting re-elected? Where do you stand?

What it Takes to get my Vote in 2012

April 30, 2012 Front Page No Comments

In 2008, there was so much excitement surrounding the presidential election that it was contagious. For many, like myself, it would be one of our first opportunities to vote for the United States’ highest office… President. As a 20-year-old, who just started my second semester in college, it turned into one of the biggest moments of my life.

There was not only a black man in the race but also a woman, who both represented many of the issues I care about. But a lot has changed since that time of staying up late to hand out flyers and giving up my weekends to canvass.

[WATCH] Blogger Exposes TSA Faulty Nude Body Scanners

SXSW is almost here and we are going to be rolling deep to attend this annual music festival mainly because we have our own panel taking place: Can Bloggers Put Hope Back into the 2012 Election?

Seeing that by July 2011, we just surpassed 164 million blogs (up from 161 million since 2004), 49 percent of which are produced by the US, just about everyone is finding the time to rant and rave about something. If sharing is caring, a lot of people sure do give a f**k!

Meet Johnathan Corbett, blogger, who is making it a chore to take down the TSA for their irresponsible spending and disregard for our safety. With a very articulate argument to back himself up, Johnathan walks us through some of the dysfunctions of the nude body scanners at your local airport. He even walks through a couple with metallic objects in his pocket to show that certain types of material are able to appear invisible on their scanners, which is an insult to intelligence.

Forget hope and the 2012 election! This is the type of journalism that will take the trust out of government altogether, if you ask me.
