BET Awards 2011 vs WET Awards 2012

June 26, 2011 Culture, Music, Problems 1 Comment

When it comes to entertaining black people on a platform where anything goes, the award would, unfortunately, have to go to WorldStarHipHop. They’re entertaining, inspiring and poisoning an entire generation at the same time. Shouldn’t they be as credible if not more than BET, to have a show acknowledging those content developers and producers? Damn, I can see it now: WorldStarHipHop Entertains Them Awards 2012, Hosted by Flava Flav w/ an opening perfomance by Odd Future featuring Lil B, ending w/ Pinky awarding Heather Hunter the Lifetime Achievement Award. SMH!

Gun Goes Off at Elementary School

April 20, 2011 Front Page, Problems No Comments

A child with a gunAs I read an article on CNN today, “3 kindergartners wounded when gun discharges at Houston school”, my eyes were frozen to my desktop screen in horror.

The report states, the gun apparently fell out of the 6-year-old’s clothing during lunch and discharged causing the injuries. A slew of questions raced my mind: Was the student armed because he was being bullied? Did he bring the gun to show off to others to be cool? How did this child get access to a loaded firearm? How will these young students recover mentally after being shot at such an earlier age? Where are these parents and will they be held legally responsible for this incident?

How do we keep kids away from guns?

Speaking of Dee-1, Someone else has beef with Weezy.

Young People all over the world are producing music, some with videos, challenging their favorite artists to be more responsible. The youth ranging from 9 years old to their 30′s understand that these icons must be held accountable for all of the negativity they so nonchalantly put out to the world on a daily. Word to my homie Muhibb Dyer, The children are indeed crying, specifically in this video, for Lil Wayne to check himself for the degradation of the black women we call mom, wife, sister, grandma, etc. CONTINUE FOR VIDEO
