Nas Announces Release of The Lost Tapes Volume 2

September 17, 2010 Culture, Front Page, Music No Comments

Queensbridge emcee Nas decided that he’s going to bless fans with another compilation album to follow up his 2002 release of The Lost Tapes.

The Lost Tapes Volume 2 is slated to drop December 14, 2010.

News of the release was initially confirmed via MTV’s Shaheem Reid (@ShaheemReid) on Twitter. Nas later verified it on Twitter (@Nas).

Tracks like “Durags”, “Purple” “Drunk By Myself” and “Poppa Was a Playa” (which we discovered later was ghost-produced by Kanye West) were some of my favorite tracks from the 2002 release of The Lost Tapes. I can’t wait to see what he will come up with next.

The last project released since his divorce with Kelis in 2009 was Distant Relatives with Damian Marley, which dropped May 2010 on Universal/Def Jam.

Last Sunday, Esco was a keynote speaker for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s annual National Keystone Conference, where he shared with 900 high school students in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that his biggest regret was never receiving his HS diploma—an accreditation he is still pursuing. Due to Nasir’s recent candor, VIBE. decided to break out a couple yearbooks for a look at who’s proving the educational system wrong and who graduated Magnum cum-laude. Don’t judge a book by its rapper
