*****DOWNLOAD- Dee-1 ‘I Hope They Hear Me Vol. 2′|99Problems

Dee-1 is the homie! Ever since he first came across our radar, with the Jay, 50, & Weezy joint, we’ve been keeping his music circulating through our platform. In fact, Dee has a host of videos containing exclusive music such as his new record, “Riding By Myself” Ft. Murs, on his youtube page if you’re in need of familiarity.

As promised, the delivery of his I Hope They Hear Me Vol 2. became public Tuesday, March 1 and we’re obviously a day late with it. DOWNLOAD AFTER THE JUMP

DEE-1|I HEAR YOU!!!!!|99Problems.org

In a minute, making good music is going to be the thing to do. That’s scary, right? Check out this guy Dee-1 , whom we featured a few couple months back and is still making his presence felt with this record/video, ‘Jay, 50, & Weezy’ where he’s sitting those same big ol heads down and holding them accountable. He, somewhat reminds me of the homie, Bizzle who made his mark, basically, doing the same with more of a religious angle.

Dee dropped a mixtape entitled, ‘I Hope They Hear Me’ not too long ago and his sophomore album David & Goliath is currently available on iTunes. Hit the jump for a sample.

Live Fast, Die Young|”If You Aint Got That New Gucci Then You Must Be Broke”

November 7, 2010 Front Page 1 Comment

Rick Ross said it best. It’s not the most proactive lifestyle but it is a lifestyle that many of my peers live and promote. In this case, Lil Gucci wanted to be the best entertainer in the world and he wanted to make a lot of money doing it. There’s nothing wrong with that but I think he wanted to do it faster than God intended. In the process he did things that would make him stand out more than usual. This dude aspired to do it big and better at all times. In Milwaukee, they called that “jackin.” He picked me and many others up in a Phantom at a time where most people were driving monte carlos if they had their money up. Everyone remember the billboard he bought on 27th and Capitol. It read, “If you aint got that new Gucci then you must be broke.” The problem is, the cd wasn’t out yet or completed. AW MAN imma miss this dude. He could’ve gotten it right and he said he would but he never followed through.

This was all so sudden. I don’t know how he ended up in New Orleans, what he was doing down there or why he was killed but God does and may he rest his soul. There’s a lot to learn from this but everyone won’t take the same thing from it because we knew him differently. Slow Down, Mr 414.

Video after the fold.

New Orleans Cop Pleads Guilty To Hurricane Katrina “Massacre”

April 8, 2010 Climate, Culture, Problems 1 Comment

Over the years, I’ve heard a lot of stories about how cops and random racists murdered African American civilians during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Seems like community members are finally getting justice. We may never truly know how many people were murdered during this horrific episode, but it’s good to know that people are being held accountable for their actions. Maybe the next time there is an event like this, others won’t feel that they can literally get away with murder.
