Super Bowl XLVIII Preview and Prediction

January 30, 2014 Front Page, Sports No Comments

Super-Bowl-XLVIII1 Super Bowl XLVIII is scheduled to kick off at 6:35 PM Est on February 2, 2014 from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford New Jersey. This match-up, the first Super Bowl to be played outdoors in a cold weather environment, is  between the AFC champion Denver Broncos and the NFC champion Seattle Seahawks. This game between former divisional rivals (AFC West from 1977-2001) features the NFL’s top offense (Denver) vs the NFL’s top defense (Seattle). Denver, coached by John Fox, is seeking their 3rd Super Bowl victory, their last coming in 1998. Seattle, coached by Pete Carroll, is making only their second Super Bowl appearance, the last coming in a loss in 2005.

As always, the Super Bowl will be one of the most watched events on television. Soprano opera singer Renee Fleming will sing the national anthem. Bruno Mars will be joined by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers for this year’s Pepsi half-time show. So whether you’re watching the Super Bowl for the game, the halftime show, the commercials, or just because everyone else is watching, check out my analysis of both teams and my prediction on who will be taking home the Lombardi Trophy. … Continue Reading

January 31, 2013 Front Page, Sports 1 Comment

superbowl2Super Bowl XLVII kicks off this Sunday, Feb. 3 at  6:30 p.m.. As I predicted before the season started, the Baltimore Ravens of the AFC will be taking on the San Fransisco 49ers of the NFC. Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh takes on his younger brother, 49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh. The Ravens are seeking their second Super Bowl championship, their first coming in 2000. The 49ers are seeking sixth championship, their last coming in 1994.

This should be one of the most watched Super Bowls of all-time and for those interested in the entertainment, Alicia Keys will be singing the national anthem and Beyonce will be performing the half-time show with rumored appearances by the other members Destiny’s Child, Jay-Z and Kanye West. For those interested in the game, below is a preview of both teams and my prediction on who will be taking home the Lombardi Trophy.
