August 5, 2011 Front Page, Sports No Comments

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Pro Bowl linebacker have agreed to a six-year, $61.5 million contract making him the highest paid member of the new look steel-curtain and the second highest deal in team history.

Woodley, the former Michigan Wolverine, was selected to the Pro-bowl in 2009 recording 13.5 sacks and 62 tackles. Woodley has been a co-anchor to a defensive which also is home to fellow linebacker James Harrison as well as Pro Bowl safety Troy Polamalu. Woodley will make $18.1 million this upcoming year and $27 million over the next two years.

The Steelers hope Woodley will pick right up where he left as a nightmare to opposing QB’s. Woodley has recorded 39 sacks in his 4 years in Pittsburgh.

Jasiri X Premieres Jordan Miles Music Video

In one of Pittsburgh’s most egregious episodes of police brutality, unarmed high school student Jordan Miles was beaten beyond recognition. Since the attack, his family was awarded $180,000 in a civil suit. However, his family turned down the payment, saying that they were more interested in justice than hush money.

One Hood Media will be premiering the video in its entirety tonight and also hosting a panel discussion. If you’re in Pittsburgh, make sure to stop by Homewood Library at 7 p.m.

99Problems wants to hear your stories on police brutality in your city. Leave a comment if you’re tired of staying quiet on the #Criminalinjustice system.
