Man of Steel: LaMarr Woodley’s New Deal
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Pro Bowl linebacker have agreed to a six-year, $61.5 million contract making him the highest paid member of the new look steel-curtain and the second highest deal in team history.
Woodley, the former Michigan Wolverine, was selected to the Pro-bowl in 2009 recording 13.5 sacks and 62 tackles. Woodley has been a co-anchor to a defensive which also is home to fellow linebacker James Harrison as well as Pro Bowl safety Troy Polamalu. Woodley will make $18.1 million this upcoming year and $27 million over the next two years.
The Steelers hope Woodley will pick right up where he left as a nightmare to opposing QB’s. Woodley has recorded 39 sacks in his 4 years in Pittsburgh.
