Rick Ross is not playing about the Maybach Music imprint as well as the movement he’s developing. He’s keep adding to it and I just can’t keep up!

Around Christmas, we provided our followers with the download link to Ross’s Ashes to Ashes mixtape which included “Play Your Part” featuring our homie @DaChesterFrench. Here is the video with the Harvard Lad supporting the Maybach Music movement. For Video, Go Forth My Child>>>

Chester French + Milwaukee =#WhereIsTheLove

February 5, 2011 Front Page No Comments

D.A. Wallach of Chester French, is one of the biggest supporters of Milwakuee that I know. It’s his hometown as is mine but our lives growing up here were totally different. Honestly, I think he gets off on landing at Mitchell International, Milwaukee’s premiere airport, as opposed to the cringing feeling I experience when I arrive. Basically, we had two totally different but very meaningful upbringings in this very segregated city. It was music and social media that brought us together.

Privileged or not, he’s an artist at the end of the day which, is actually, a humbling position for a dude who’s technically, a Harvard Grad w/ honors. The question is: #WhereIsTheLove for a guy+1, that puts on for his city everyday. While in the midst of encountering opportunities that most local artists couldn’t begin to imagine, he manages to be a stand-up dude with everyone he meets. I guess there aint no love in the heart of Brew City?

Join that journey on Saturday, February 20th, 2010, with the one man stage play entitled, “From Kings, To Thugs, To Presidents” at the nostalgic Miramar Theatre located at 2844 N. Oakland Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This powerful stage play is executive produced by the host and co-founder of Poetry Unplugged (PU), Kwabena Antoine Nixon.

Kwabena Antoine Nixon and Muhibb Dyer are undeniably two of the most dynamic elements in our community that are cultivating a scene of positive and influential change with a local and national following of sold out events. Their penetrating poetry reaches the core of their audiences painting real life scenarios geared towards societal issues with a mirror effect. Their “Flood the Hood with Dreams” seminars serve as a catalyst to diminish violence within our communities by empowering you to dream big and achieve your goals by getting past your environment and background so that you can receive your dreams by taking responsibility of your future.

Much like the late activist Malcolm X, they have encountered similar trials in their lifetime that was enough to make them fall victim to the streets adding to the statistics in the African American community for black males. But instead they are using their life’s experiences as a spring board to motivate others through poetry and inspiration that will create change regardless of your current environment.

You don’t want to miss this powerful performance by one of America’s leading master poets, Muhibb Dyer. Doors open at 7:00pm. Tickets are $10.00.
