When @realwizkhalifa tweeted at me to watch a video, I was very surprised. To be honest, I was expecting it to be one of two things: a spam message or a new club banger. However, I was absolutely wrong and the music video was about social justice and the lack of it. The video shared a story of the struggles of all people in society and the criminal acts that they encounter on a daily basis. However,  Lyrikill (the artist) has a solution to the problem: Love is the answer.

“Obama got Osama Bin, but our economy is rock bottom in … Should I vote or just say f@!# it? It’s like a President is just a puppet. One man can’t fix up all ‘em problems. Say all our prays hope  God will solve them … I look to the clouds to see a sign … Government and bank ties we see it… I believe love is the answer.”

The video highlights the major problems in our society through a series of news clips.  I was so inspired by the video that I wanted to share it with all our 99problems.org readers. Enjoy!

This is an interesting conversation. A young lady, who happens to be white and the sister of one of the industry’s newest controversial artists, Kreayshawn, uses the N-Word frequently and is catching a lot of heat for doing so. Her name is V-Nasty if you haven’t been following this story from its origin.

I can’t really judge her from her using the word or her now public past. Hip-hop culture and the lifestyle that has accompanied it for more than a decade, is still expanding and reaching others on so many levels. The usage of the N-Word is unfortunately apart of the same culture that made ‘sagging pants’ acceptable. At the same time, I can’t justify the usage of the word from V-Nasty or myself for that matter.

One thing is for sure, we’ve brought Tupac and Snapbacks back, but the original N-Word can stay where it’s at! Oh and #PutTheGunsDown

What will not go unnoticed is Nicki Minaj crowning Lil Wayne as the Greatest Rapper Alive despite his R&B debut and the undeniable electrifying performance that ‘The Throne’ put on. I’m telling you, Young Money don’t want it with that old money.

While #WTT is having the Best Week Ever, Jay’s former business partner Dame isn’t? Or is he? If Dame has 99 Problems, taxes are definitely one of them.

Prison is not supposed to be equivalent to your stay at a five-star hotel but at least treat the inmates that occupy the space as human beings. Even animals are treated better than the inmates in more than a dozen California prisons which is why they’re participating in a hunger strike that has lasted more than a week, risking death in the process.

Facebook is amazing but the problem is people still don’t see how powerful it is. YOU have to be the person who manages this platform, no one else. Everyday there are new advances for this online social network and if you aren’t hip to those, you’ll play the game the same way you’ve done in the past. There once was Black Planet, Myspace, Paxed turned BLNK and then somehow we all ended up on Facebook. Well, that’s because something changed. But did you?

At the end of the day, if you don’t know how to use Facebook properly, you’ll lose a spouse, go to jail, get robbed, stalked or fired because you’ll tell your stranger friends: where you are, how much of a drug addict you are, what you’re doing exactly, etc.

Apparently, this New Jersey man of God is tired of dealing with couples that are getting caught up on Facebook so he mandates that everyone deactivate their facebook accounts or get the hell out of his sanctuary. “Well….it aint your house, it’s God’s house! And if you’re a man of God, you better get about his business”….that’s what my grandma would say! Is everyone in your congregation married?

Pastor, what about the people that have jobs that require them to be on Facebook? What happens if we’re is caught on there? Is an usher going to escort us out of church? Can we have a mobile account? What if Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg gave your church, I mean, God’s church a million dollars?

See, Rev, it’s gonna get hot and if you’re that frustrated…slowly back away from the stove and get out the kitchen. Your job is to counsel folks, not give them some impulsive advice because you don’t wanna deal with them. Facebook isn’t destroying marriages and everything else… WE ARE!

Did they really think that they could make an example out of this innocent looking kid over some chicken nuggets. The Police Department has withdrawn a theft ticket issued to a Shorewood High School student who was handcuffed, photographed and fingerprinted after being accused of stealing a chicken nugget meal from the school cafeteria, Police Chief David Banaszynski said Monday.

Police and the school principal agreed the matter should be dropped, he said.

The ticket, given in March to Adam Hernandez, was to be the subject of a Municipal Court trial Tuesday.

“It shouldn’t have gone this far. There are other means and methods to handle this kind of situation,” Banaszynski said.

The arrest of the 15-year-old freshman was reported Sunday by Journal Sentinel columnist Eugene Kane.

Kane reported that Hernandez denied stealing the $2.60 meal, but rather received it from a friend who participated in a free lunch program at the school.

A rally in support of Hernandez had been planned at Village Hall just prior to Tuesday’s scheduled trial.

Banaszynski confirmed that after Hernandez was arrested and handcuffed at the school he was taken to the police station to be photographed and fingerprinted before being released.

He said the same procedure would have been used had police been told, for example, that someone had eaten food from the deli of a grocery store without paying for it.

The fine and costs assessed for a municipal theft ticket total about $170, Banaszynski said.

Banaszynski noted that the police officer who works at the high school full time, as well as an assistant principal, were at the scene when officers arrived to make the arrest.

Asked if he thought a theft had occurred, Banaszynski said he didn’t want to speculate.

“There’s more than one side of the story,” he said.

Hernandez’s lawyer, James Hall, could not be reached for comment.

It seems like nothing happens at home until you’re away from it. One of the biggest music festivals in the world is currently going on in Milwaukee, WI but you probably wouldn’t be able to tell because of all the attention that has been diverted to the parking structure collapsing leaving one dead, 2 injured. Jsonline has the story.

These type of occurrences can’t be prevented but my prayers go out to the families that suffered from this tragic event.

Ahh, this brings back memories. This literally happened to me before. The Milwaukee Police Dept sent their S.W.A.T. team to my house/studio, searching for someone that didn’t live there but had been there the previous day. Instead of them asking and knocking politely, they shot a flash bomb into my living room injuring my cat and destroyingthe front and back doors of my home hoping to find the drugs and guns they assumed I possessed. Their warrant was present but presented at then end of the Raid instead of the beginning which would’ve made a major difference. They ended up walking out with my 2 pitts and rottweiler, 2 registered guns, and no suspects.

It’s times like these that remind you of how careless police can be. This is why some people say, “Fuck The Police”. It’s not their jobs to shoot innocent dogs and cats. That’s taking your job too damn serious, don’t you think? I’m still kinda salty, so, I can relate to the brother below.

Currently, with enough money to speed up the efforts in Haiti, Jay Z remains human and is feeling every effect of the fragile economy.It was just 3 years ago, that the mogul announced plans to bring J Hotels into fruition but they were abruptly suspended due to the infamous money crisis everyone’s talking about.

Jay-Z claims that Highland Capital Management “duplicitously stalled” efforts to hand over the deed on the hotel building site in lieu of foreclosure in order to collect tens of thousands of dollars a day in interest and fees. Now, he’s suing the investment firm and the bank on the project for $3.7 million, claiming they’re “bleeding” him on loans on the abandoned project. HC Management says it will vigorously defend itself and pursue obligations owed to the investors.
