India Arie Hangs w/ Fans in LA [Video]

India Arie is still touring w/ Idan Raichel, who happens to be one of the biggest artists in Israel. Their joint project, “Open Door” is set to release this spring. While performing the album at Luckman Fine Arts Complex @ Cal State, she revisited the crowd favorites like “Brown Skin,” “Video,” and “Ready 4 Love.” If that wasn’t enough, she allowed fans to hang with her after the show.

Hell, I’m a fan. I’m just lucky enough to have the inside connect that allowed me to be in the midst of this amazing musical happening that occurred last night after the show!

R&B singer and Grammy nominated songwriter  and Teddy Pendergrass mentee Corey Latif is at it again. The Philadelphia native who’s is responsible for writing hits for JoJo, Cassie, The Roots,Ryan Leslie, Chris Brown, Cheri Dennis, Jim Jones and Musiq Soulchild, to name a few, is preparing to release his second album LATIF – Love Life which will only be released in Japan. Sade Throws an Alley-Oop & Jay Z Catches to Dunk on Drake???

It was while back but do you remember when Drake reached out to Sade to appear on his freshman release and she rejected saying:

“I’ve never collaborated because I’ve always avoided working outside my safety zone — I can be exactly who I am and can fail or succeed within the moment. I feel safe working like I do. I wouldn’t want to work in a situation where I am expected to deliver, because I think I wouldn’t deliver.”

Maybe Drake wasn’t big enough on her radar at the time because she recently teamed up with Jay-Z for the track, “Moon & The Sky” which is to be released in May. #Power

Never Too Late: Mary J. Blige Gets Her G.E.D.!!!

If you don’t believe that your high school diploma is attainable, ask 75 year old Marjorie Elliot in California who attended her completion ceremony on June 30th, 2010. Hopefully, this is inspiring for a troubled youth or confused adult that can’t see the reality in ever receiving that piece of paper. If not, then take a look at Mary J Blige who has experienced the highs and lows of the music industry and at the height of her success, still felt obligated to finish up high school which, obviously, wasn’t a priority in her life years ago. Education is a right but is also a choice and that’s clearly displayed in these two scenarios.

The video below is from a fan cam and doesn’t have the best sound quality because of the crowds reaction but you should still be able to hear Mary speaking in the beginning about her recent accomplishments. Howard U? Thats whats up!!!
