Students Love Technology

August 10, 2011 Front Page No Comments

In high school, I attended Bradley Tech in Milwaukee, WI. Compared to other schools, they tried to be ahead of the curve with the latest technology but it’s nothing compared to what is available now. If I could substitute a textbook for a tablet assignment, college might have been on my radar. With the burst of social media platforms and options for young tech lovers to explore, how can a student not be excited to learn?

Robot Priest Marries Couple in Japan

May 17, 2010 Front Page No Comments

Remember when matrimony was holy. Well, In keeping up with the theme of doing away with the old ways of doing things, Japan has figured out a way to legally marry a couple with a robot. If anyone had a problem with priests facilitating lifelong ceremonies that put man and wife together, here’s your solution, The I-Fairy. I’m not sure how this relates to the I-Pad or I-Phone, but this could be a hit just like them, especially, since there are approximately 800,000 of these in production and about 9 million weddings a year in China alone.

Escaping Facebook Just Became That Much Harder

July 15, 2009 Front Page No Comments

It’s amazing how much our generation is addicted to Facebook–so much so that we are driving up the rate of internet usage in cell phones. A new study by CCS Insight has found that a third of 16-36 year olds access Facebook through their cell phones on a regular basis. It’s more popular than MySpace, Bebo, and Twitter combined. And the number of users is only going up; by the end of the year it’s predicted that almost 45% of youth will be accessing the net from their cells.

So not only is the stalker in all of us exponentially increased by having Facebook available at all times in our back pocket, but our addiction is lining the pockets of cell phone companies as well–accessing internet each month costs an average of $30 more than just a phone plan.

Find out more about our all-consuming drive for 24/7 technological access at http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/8149652.stm.
